8'10" Fineline Son Of Sam surfgear8'10" x 22 1 8" x 3 1 16" The Fineline Son Of Sam (SOS) is hand shaped by Brian Hilbers and based off of Nat Young's Magic Sam that won him the 1966 World Surfing Championship title. Surf historians often say that this board is responsible for beginning surfing's Transition Era that spanned from roughly 1967 1969 where the mainstream surfboard change dramatically to allow surfers to surf in more critical sections of the wave, in and around the pocket.

The bottom contours are strictly convex with a gentle roll throughout the length of the board

The baseline tail rocker is set at 1

The outline of the L-Spoon has the wide point set slightly lower than center with a moderately pulled in nose and  squash tail that gives the outline a nice amount of curvature towards the bottom half

The outline is full with a plump nose and tail while the bottom contours start with a light roll in the nose that quickly transitions into a single concave and into a double concave out the tail
