Abies koreana 'Aurea' Size:3 gal size 3-4 years oldGolden form of the Korean Fir, unless grown in shade, where it will be more green than gold. Discovered by Lohbrunner nursery in British Columbia in the 1950's in a batch of seedlings. This tree grows more globose when young, but later develops a leader and becomes a broad upright tree. The shorter needles emerge a bright yellow in spring, but fade to a dull light yellow green by winter. The purple cones, typical of the species, contrast nicely with
