Iceland's glacier landscapes are among my favorite photographic subjects and I find the very dark and almost black ice particularly fascinating

revealing forms full of tension just before or during the moment of breaking

the river carries fine sediment that subtly alters its color

The appearance of the ice reminded me of cast iron rather than frozen water

this series captures the force and complexity of some of the Atlantic’s most powerful waves
