IAR 80B TMSPAThe I. A. R. 80 and 81 were Romanias only domestically designed and mass produced fighters of World War II, earning a reputation for resilience and effectiveness despite facing technologically superior opponents from the USAAF, Soviet VVS, Luftwaffe, and Hungarian air forces. Built by Industria Aeronautic Romn (I. A. R.) in Braov, the aircrafts design drew on earlier experience with all metal monoplane construction and Polish P. 11F technology,

including the retractable tail wheel

and they were subsequently used as flying laboratories

with the emergence of medium PzKpfw IV tanks equipped with 75mm long guns and heavy PzKpfw V panther and PzKpfw VI Tiger tanks in German armored forces

and thus most won’t come back up

It is a standard mid-wing monoplane with one jet engine in the rear fuselage

The SBD-3 which appeared in March 1941 had O5Os in the cowling
