It sucks up the dye and speckles work really well on this yarn

We used 4mm needles for the swatch as the yarn is very smooth and this worked and blocked out really well

You can use a range of needles for this yarn

50% Tencel

Gauge: 3mm - 23sts & 40 rows

166 meters per 100g hank

and the cotton cage provides some really nice denim/worn like effects as it will not take acid dyes like the alpaca inside

The yarn can be doubled up as well to make a heavier weight yarn

that is perfect for shawls

that remain prominent in the yarns once dyed
